Griffith Park History

About This Site

Return to the Griffith Park History Home Page
This is the home of the Griffith Park History Project, which is my attempt to chronicle the remarkable hundred-year-long life of the largest city park in Los Angeles. (I, by the way, am Mike Eberts; you can click on me if you want to know more.) This site contains links to articles I've written and photos I've collected on various aspects of the park's history. It also has links to web sites maintained by the park's various facilities (and their fans) and a note regarding my book on the history of Griffith Park.

Fast Fact: When it was first donated as a city park by Col. Griffith J. Griffith on Dec. 16, 1896, Griffith Park was outside the Los Angeles city limits.
