We Experience Classic Film Noir
at Glendale's Historic Alex Theatre
Glendale's  1925-vintage movie palace, the Alex Theatre, was the site of this MC101 field trip. Here is our group in the movie palace's forecourt.

Of course, the Alex Theatre  is as much of an attraction as the film. Here's what the theater looked like in the 1950s.

At left is a shot of the Alex's classic neon spire at night.

Here is the poster for an upcoming event sponsored by the Alex Film Society.
The centerpiece of today's event is a screening of the film noir classic Double Indemnity. This is an exhibit related to the film that was set up in the lobby.
Randy Carter of the Alex Film socciety is always good about telling students about the theatre and what they will be seeing. He always has some great stories to tell, and today was no exception.
Once in the theater, most of us found seats in the balcony. (After all, how often do you get to see a vaudeville show from a classic theater balcony?)
The Alex Film Society provided a program that told more about Double Indemnity and its stars.
