We Attend a Summer Fireworks
Concert at the Hollywood Bowl
An evening at the Hollywood Bowl has become a popular Mass Comm 101 summer field trip.

Demand for our  inexpensive top-of-the-bowl tickets was very strong.

We attended the annual Independence Day Weekend concert, which is always capped with a fireworks extravaganza.

This photo gives a good idea of the view from our seats.

We had a good turnout, although some of the MC101s had trouble wading through the traffic both outside and inside the Bowl.

As usual, the Independence Day Weekend concerts were sellouts.

A few of the early arrivals were available for photo opportunities.

Some MC101s brought former MC101s.
Eventually, darkness made the lighting of the Bowl's famous shell look quite dramatic.
Also, the very dark conditions were a boon to the fireworks presentation that concluded the concert.
On our way out, we were confronted by some genuine Hollywood Bowl merchandise. You could take home your own personal Hollywood Bowl.
And for a paltry fee you could take the rulers of music home with you.

In all, an excellent MC101 summer field trip.
