The Hollywood Bowl is always a popular Mass Comm 101 field
trip.
Demand for our $8 Bowl tickets was robust. All of the tickets purchased back in February were sold. Here is the view from our section at the top of the Bowl. Eventually, the section in front of us filled up; the event was a sellout. |
|
Outside the Bowl, tickets were being sold for
well above face value. |
| |
Although we had a good turnout, some of the MC101s had trouble wading through the traffic both outside and inside the Bowl. |
| |
MC101s were given an assignment that focused on the Hollywood Bowl and media synergy. One part of the assignment led students to the Hollywood Bowl Museum. |
| |
The Hollywood Bowl Museum did an excellent job of taking us through the facility's 80-plus-year history. |
| |
The MC101s were in a festive mood and generally seemed pretty happy in their less-than-plush bench seats. |
| More than most MC101 field trips, this was a social occasion, an opportunity to hang out with friends. | |
| Of course, the evening would not have been
complete without an impressive foreworks display accompanied by patriotic
music. |
|
|
On our way out, we were confronted by some genuine Hollywood Bowl merchandise. You could take home your own personal Hollywood Bowl. |
|
|
And for a paltry fee you could take the rulers of music home
with you.
In all, an excellent MC101 field trip. |
