We Examine Media and
Art at the Getty Center
Getty Group
The Getty Center is a much-awaited Mass Comm 101 field trip. MC101s are encouraged to roam all around this world-class facility to complete an assignment that ties together much of what has been taught in the course.

Here are some of our early arrivals on this foggy afternoon.

Tram F06
We arrived on the Getty's quiet, clean, automated electric tram.
 In Front of Gallery
The MC101s had an assignment that encouraged them to roam all around the Getty.
 Doing Assignment
Part of the field trip involved hanging out with friends while doing an enjoyable but illuminating assignment. These MC101s were busily working on the assignment.
Getty Gardens
Students enjoyed the outside of the museum as much as they did the galleries inside. This is a view of the Getty Gardens.
Water Garden
Quite a few MC101s brought cameras to this field trip. Here is a nice shot of the little stream that runs downhill into the garden. MC101 Student Sioneh Paria took this photo.

2 in Garden
This MC101 befriended an elderly man and celebrated by placing one of the Getty Garden shrubs on top of his head. Norvik Kariminian shot this photo.
In the Gallery
MC101 Student Arada Kadinlian shot this photo from inside one of the galleries. (And, yes, photography was permitted there.)
Check In
Eventually, it was time for the MC101s to present their assignments for field trip credit. Bertha Salinas shot this photo.
Getty at Sunset
As the sun set over the Pacific, the MC101s finished their field trip assignments, got on the tram, and said goodbye to the Getty Center.
