We View Great Art and Ponder the
Role of Media at the Getty Center
The Getty Center has evolved into the pentultimate Mass Comm 101 field trip. In the final field trip of the semester, MC101s are encouraged to roam all around this world class facility to complete an assignment that ties together much of what is taught in the course.

Here is some of our group. We eventually drew over 70 MC101s and guests.

After a short intro to the assignment, the MC101s begin to explore the facility. They seemed to be having a good time.
The Getty's galleries are a delightfully mixed bag--sculpture, painting, handmade books, even furniture.
Some MC101s visited the Getty Gardens, themselves a work of art. It was an overcast day, but the gardens were still a beautiful place to be.
The Getty Gardens make the facility as much an outdoor experience as an indoor one.
At the end of the day, we dove back into Westside traffic. We got home--eventually--after an excellent day of MC101 field trips.

Back to the beginning of the day.
