We Spend a Picture-Perfect Afternoon
at the Westside's Fabulous Getty Center
The Getty Center is a treat. Many MC101s bring guests on this self-paced field trip. After gathering everyone together in front of the Orientation Building, the MC101s are given an overview of their assignment and their assignment sheets.
Most students break into small groups and plan their tour through the Getty.
The assignment encourages the MC101s to tour all of the museum's galleries.

I thought the current photo exhibit was particularly interesting.

The getty is also an outdoor experience, and MC101s are encouraged to roam the exteriors too.
Besides, not all of the artwork is indoors at the Getty. Among other things, the architecture is itself a work of art.
And the Getty Gardens are considered a triumphant example of effective landscape architecture.

Take me back to the beginning of the day.
