Welcome to the
English Lab!
We have a few
requests while you are here:
-- In order to use the Internet,
you need to certify that you understand our policies about the use of
technology on campus. Please read our Acceptable Use of Technology Policy. If
you are just "surfing the net" and other students need the computer
to write papers, then you will be asked to give up the computer. The primary
mission of the use of technology on campus is for educational purposes.
-- Please do not bring in food
and/or drinks. (Both are fatal to computers)
-- Please do not work without a
thumb drive or compact disk. (You
may lose your work. Trust us.)
-- Please do not ask us to help
you copy software (This is illegal).
-- Please do not disrupt others
with excessively loud talking or socializing.
-- Please do not have cell phone
conversations in the lab.
-- Please do not make more than
one copy of your documents.
-- Please print class documents
only Š Don't waste paper.
-- Please donÕt print an excess
of ten pages per day (as printing is complimentary)
(We suggest you
use "spell check" and "print preview" before you print.
When you are printing a page from the Internet, make sure that the
"page" isn't thirty pages long!
If it is a long document, please ask one of our let one of our lab aides
help you)
AND........
-- Please realize that
instructors may have reservations for classes in the back lab.
(You will be courteously reminded to
leave before a class comes in.)
-- Please send a
"print" only once. Be patient with the printers and WAIT once you send
your document to print. (You may not
get it right away -- especially when there are a lot of people in the lab.)
-- Please realize that the lab
gets busy...especially at finals. (Plan ahead!)
FINALLY.....
Please ask us questions.
Although we are sometimes busy, we are always glad to help you.
